Playoff Winners
Notes: Per Section 6.18 of the BRSA Outdoor 2008 League Rules:
6.18.1 Final Standings
Total points will determine final standings in each Division. In the event of a tie, a tie-breaking procedure will be applied in the following order:
1. Previous Match Results. The winner of the match between the two teams tied in points shall be awarded the higher position.
2. Goal Difference. Goal difference shall be calculated by deducting the total goals against from total goals for, in all of the team’s games. The team with the highest goal difference in the entire competition will be awarded the higher standing.
3. Most Goals Scored. The team scoring the most goals in all of their matches will be awarded the higher standing.
4. Penalty shots. As per FIFA Laws of the Game, at a time and place determined by BRSA.
6.18.2 Format (amended Feb 23, 2008)
To determine the ASA Provincial Tournament qualifier, the top two Teams (for a two-Division League, it will be the top team of each Division) at the end of the Regular Season will play a home at home series beginning at the home field of the second place Team. Duration of the games will be 90 minutes. In the event of a tie at the end of regulation in the second game, tie breaking procedure as follows:
1. Away Goals. The Team scoring the greater number of goals at the home field of their opponent shall be considered the victors.
2. Extra Time. 2 periods of 15 minutes, alternating sides, with the home Team to take first pick of side. Golden Goal rule will apply, (first goal wins.)
3. Penalty Shots. As per FIFA Laws of the Game.
6.18.3 Officials
One Referee and two Linesmen for all Playoff games are to be provided by the Home Team. The Referee must come from outside of either competing Team’s Community. Linesmen may come from any Community. For Playoffs, the following fee structure will be used: Referee - $30/game, Linespersons - $15/game. PLEASE CONTACT CARRIE BELYEA, DISTRICT REFEREE ASSISTANT, FOR ASSISTANCE IN OBTAINING REFEREES.
